KNIVES OUT - 2019's newest whodunnit thriller by Rian Johnson

As their backs are turned, these A-List celebs become slay-list in Rian Johnson's new whodunnit mystery flick.

Featuring a coveted cast led by Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas and Christopher Plummer, and then incredible supporting performances from Lakeith Stanfield, Toni Collette, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Shannon, Don Johnson and Katherine Langford.

Following the anonymous hire of P.I. Benoit Blanc (Craig) to discover the truth behind the mysterious death of Harlan Thrombey (Plummer) who was found dead in his home library with a slit throat. Supposedly, a suicide but Blanc suspects there's more to this death than meets the eye.

Enter the affluent Thrombey family, living life by the millions, working in the family business and all of whom were present on the night of Harlan's death. Also present were housekeeper Fran (Patterson) and nurse Marta (de Armas).

Thus antics ensue as each present member of the Thrombey family and company are interviewed by police detective Elliot (Stanfield) and mystery-thriving Wagner (Segan).

Unlike other Cluedo-style films previously, Knives Out isn't afraid to keep it simple, creating twists and turns that are logical yet still surprising. So carefully and cleverly plotted, you, much like the detectives are just as intrigued when Blanc uncovers new pieces of the puzzle. All leading to the classic drawing room reveal of the person behind it all, the conclusion is just so satisfying and perfectly laid out.

For a film running for two hours and fifteen minutes, it is a long one but will continue to keep you guessing. You'll find yourself thoroughly enjoying the unrecognisable Southern 'CSI KFC' drawl of Craig's, the boyish cheekiness brought out by Evans, and de Armas hypnotic but such expressive eyes as a true show stopper.

And the score is absolutely fantastic and the tone it sets as Blanc uncovers the mystery could not be more spot on. Composed by Rian's cousin, Nathan Johnson, the two grew up together and would create home movies - hence why the score is so in tune with the film as the two cousins are with each other's creative style.

Knives Out is the ideal film for those who love a thoroughly enjoyable mystery with some on-point sattire thrown into the mix. Rian Johnson has written the perfect whodunnit reminiscent of Agatha Christie's work. Keeping the viewer quite literally on the edge of their seat and whispering to their fellow moviegoers about who was behind the heinous murder. I, myself, will certainly be going back to watch this movie whilst it is still in session.

AVENGERS: ENDGAME - NON-SPOILER REVIEW

11 years, 22 movies and a journey of a lifetime for those of us

who quite literally grew up alongside the MCU...

We're finally here.

We're in the endgame now.

As this is a NON SPOILER review, I'll keep it short and to the point.

Avengers: Endgame is a truly extraordinary piece of cinematic history.

If you thought Avengers: Infinity War was an emotional rollercoaster,

ooh you best strap yourself in even tighter!

Now, I know I'm repeating myself and many others but one truly struggles to comprehend the mass amounts of work that go into creating the MCU and the films within it are unlike any other seen in cinema before.

I highly, HIGHLY recommend staying behind to watch the credits and just take a moment to truly appreciate every single individual listed and pay respect to the amount of work each of them have contributed to these movies.

From the incredible concept art on the pages to turning the unreal sets, detailed costumes and bringing these creative visions to life. It's all truly a masterpiece.

And of course, where would we be without the absolutely stellar cast behind our beloved Marvel characters! Every scene, every nuanced performance is done to perfection, making viewers feel every emotion possible. Their acting truly is something else entirely, and for the original six Avengers, cultivating over 10 years of character development, weaving themselves into these adored characters.

This really is the end of an era...

But it is an ending that has been done in, what I and I imagine many others would agree, to utter nuanced, extraordinary perfection.

11 years of characters we love and stories we watch over and over again, all tied up in the perfect bow.

Congratulations to the cast of Avengers: Endgame, Kevin Feige, the Russo brothers and every single person whether they're behind the scenes, part of the creative team, etc. You've created cinematic history and made Marvel fans all over the world feel so special to be a part of this journey and watch as this era draws to a close.

MOVIE REVIEW: AVENGERS AGE OF ULTRON

Rating: 4.5 stars

AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!

It’s that time again, time to watch Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Hawkeye, Hulk and Black Widow team up again as the Avengers and kick some butt!

MOVIE SUMMARY:

When Tony Stark and Bruce Banner try to jump-start a dormant peacekeeping program called Ultron, things go horribly wrong and it's up to Earth's Mightiest Heroes to stop the villainous Ultron from enacting his terrible plans.

MY REVIEW:

After watching the first Avengers movie, Thor, Iron Man 1, 2 & 3, The Incredible Hulk and Captain America; I found Age of Ultron to be a brilliant movie that really escalated from the first movie both in character development and in action.

The connections between Bruce Banner and Black Widow are absolutely adorable and emotional! They grow close as Black Widow tries to help him control his anger and the way they both understand each other’s pasts yet they do not judge each other for the past and focus on the future.

The way they moulded the storylines of Pietro and Wanda Maximoff into Age Of Ultron most definitely took me by surprise but I will admit that they casted these two roles in such a way that the audience could almost see understand that these two just wanted to belong somewhere.

I thought Avengers: Age of Ultron was a fantastic movie, however I personally thought they could have given Pietro, Wanda and Vision more on screen time. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Avengers but I just would have liked to see more about Vision’s creation. As for Wanda and Pietro, it would have been much more enticing for me to see their background and more about how their powers worked.

I look forward to the next Avengers movie as they did tease a sneak peek in at the end of the credits!
