Rating: 5 stars
Explore the world of Christian Grey through the eyes of innocent
Anastasia Steele as she slowly unravels his secrets and delves into this other
sexual life.
Romantic, liberating and
totally addictive, this is a novel that will obsess you, possess you, and stay
with you forever.
Goodreads Book Description:
When
literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur
Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and
intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this
man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to
him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey
admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.
Shocked yet
thrilled by Grey’s singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings
of success—his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving
family—Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control.
When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana
discovers Christian Grey’s secrets and explores her own dark desires.
Erotic,
amusing, and deeply moving, the Fifty Shades Trilogy is a tale that will obsess
you, possess you, and stay with you forever.
My Review:
Personally, it took me a while
to get through this book but once I had, it kept me going back for more
adventures between Ana and Christian another 3 times. Total = 4 re-reads
I recently have seen the
movie directed by extraordinaire Sam Taylor Johnson & starring the lovely
Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele and the hunky Jamie Dornan as Christian
Grey. And I know he was the second choice because Charlie Hannum was chosen
first but I believe Dornan fits the role of the intimidating Grey better. But
hey, that's my opinion.
The book however was not
only an exquisite read but a definite favorite of mine, I am yet to reread Fifty
Shades Darker & Fifty Shades Freed but the phenomenon has spread
across the world in a total of 100 million copies sold in February 2014 &
$500 million tickets sold in March 2015!
EL James created a story
which has opened the world up to a different lifestyle that many people either
agree or disagree with, I personally don't know where I sit - possibly in the
middle? - however it has changed my view on many things in the world.
I found I was able to
relate to Anastasia in multiple ways, some being how she thinks, her values and
who she is as a person. Dakota played the role perfectly and true to the book,
Jamie did a splendid job of playing Christian as he did bring the character to
life and stayed true to Grey's values and ways that EL James has described in Fifty
Shades Of Grey.
Think Lovely Thoughts xo

P.S. Any hate comments will
be taken down immediately as this is just my own opinion of the book and movie.
