Rating: A MILLION STARS
Movie Description:
Since the dawn of
civilization, he was worshipped as a God. Apocalypse, the first and most
powerful mutant from Marvel's X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other
mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of
years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of
powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto, to cleanse mankind and
create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth
hangs in the balance, Raven with the help of Professor X must lead a team of
young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete
destruction.
My Review:
Directed by Bryan
Singer, the X-Men series is back with more action, more apocalyptic adventure
and more 80s!
I honestly can’t
put into words how much I absolutely loved this movie!
The cast – both
old and new – brought the classic X-Men characters to life, I loved seeing younger
versions of Scott Summers, Jean Grey, Peter Maximoff, Kurt Wagner and Hank
McCoy.
It was wonderful
to see the younger version of Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr return for this
movie – portrayed admirably by James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender.
Although you could
barely recognise him, Oscar Isaac delivered the role of Apocalypse remarkably!
He brought the power and domination of Apocalypse to life as he recruited his
four Horsemen, Storm, Magneto, Archangel and Psylocke.
The action within
X-Men Apocalypse was astounding! From
cage fights, old friends reuniting and heartbreaking losses to a battle like no
other with an epic ending! This movie couldn’t possibly have more action if it
tried; I personally loved every second of this movie and can’t make any
complaints.
X-Men Apocalypse intended to produce an apocalyptic battle
between the young X-Men and Apocalypse of which indeed was delivered to
audiences.
It’s such a shame
that this saga is coming to an end, I hope that we will see more of the younger
X-Men in the future.
