Goodreads Book Description:
Fate and fortune. Power and passion. What
does it take to be the queen of a kingdom when you’re only seventeen?
Maya is cursed.
With a horoscope that promises a marriage of death and destruction, she has
earned only the scorn and fear of her father’s kingdom. Content to follow more
scholarly pursuits, her whole world is torn apart when her father, the Raja,
arranges a wedding of political convenience to quell outside rebellions. Soon
Maya becomes the queen of Akaran and wife of Amar. Neither roles are what she
expected: As Akaran’s queen, she finds her voice and power. As Amar’s wife, she
finds something else entirely: Compassion. Protection. Desire…
But Akaran has
its own secrets—thousands of locked doors, gardens of glass, and a tree that
bears memories instead of fruit. Soon, Maya suspects her life is in danger. Yet
who, besides her husband, can she trust? With the fate of the human and
Otherworldly realms hanging in the balance, Maya must unravel an ancient mystery
that spans reincarnated lives to save those she loves the most…including
herself.

My Review:
A stunning book
filled with enchantment, mystery and love. The
Star-Touched Queen leaves readers constantly curious and craving more!
I'm honoured to
have received The Star-Touched Queen as
an arc from Harlequinn Teen, this book has been one of my most anticipated
reads of 2016 and I couldn't have been happier with it!
Thrown into a
world of mystery and wonder, readers follow the story of Mara, a young, strong,
independent woman who isn't leading the life she wished for. She lives in a
time when rules are constantly followed and wars between kingdoms can break out
at any given moment. For Mara however, not all rules were made to be followed;
when Mara is about to end her life for the sake of her kingdom, she is stopped
by a mysterious man who only shows the bottom of his face - she is immediately
intrigued by him and joins him on an adventure of love, betrayal & magic.
At first I
thought this book was very mysterious and contained quite an amount of
insta-love. But as I progressed through the book, the plot began to thicken,
the characters developed beautifully and Mara truly took me on a journey I'd
never expect!
I absolutely
adore Roshani Chokshi's writing in The
Star-Touched Queen! Her writing
is vibrant, lyrical, beautiful and deeply connecting with her readers.
Following Mara's journey in this book, I was constantly shocked at the plot
twists & new information I gained.
I certainly will
be going to re-read this wonderful book in the future!
Think Lovely Thoughts xo
